Agenda for June 3-5 General Sessions

The Accessibility Forum is pleased to Announce the June Forum at Gallaudet University, Kellogg Conference Center in Washington, DC. The meeting will be held June 4 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and on June 5 from 8:30am to 12:00pm.  Project Team Workshops will be held on Monday, June 3.   There is no registration fee to attend this conference and the DRESS IS BUSINESS CASUAL.

The June meeting will include presentations by the Project Teams, The Strategic Management Council, and guest speakers. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet in group and breakout discussions to participate in planning future Forum activities and events.

Attendance at the Forum will enable members to:

  • keep apprised of Forum activity,
  • provide substantive input to Forum issues and direction of effort and resources, and
  • network with other members on issues of common interest.

Who is encouraged to attend?

  • Anyone interested in the trends shaping the future of accessible technology
  • People with disabilities (Users)
  • E&IT Vendors
  • AT Vendors
  • Co-workers of people with disabilities
  • Federal Managers
  • Procurement staff, contract and grants staff, project officers, and administrative officers
  • Persons who buy or recommend IT and other office equipment
  • Information, communication, and public liaison employees

Advance registration is required to ensure that an effective work environment with appropriate accommodations and accessibility is provided. The registration deadline for the Accessibility Forum June meeting is May 20, 2002. Please register early because space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  Details for tuning into the Webcast will be made available to you soon.

Sleeping Rooms:

A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved at GUKCC at a preferred rate of $109 + tax for single occupancy. All rooms are tastefully appointed and are fully ADA compliant. To reserve a room at these rates, individuals must contact the reservations desk at 202-651-6000. When registering please state that you are reserving under the Accessibility Forum block of rooms. Reservations must be received by May 20, 2002 to get the $109 rate and must be guaranteed with a major credit card.

Transportation:

Ronald Reagan (National) airport is located 15 minutes from Gallaudet. Dulles and BWI airports are within 45 minutes. 

Free shuttle service to and from Union Station Metro is every 15 minutes on the hour, from 7:00 am until 10:00 pm weekdays. Union Station is approximately 5 minutes from the Conference Center.
