Summary of Organizational Structure Examples
There are four ORGANIZATIONAL ENTITIES included in each example:
- Strategic Leadership Council
- Project Leadership Management Council
- Project Teams
- Affinity Groups
In each Organizational Entity the example considers the composition of the entity, the responsibility of the entity, and the Outcome of the entity’s activities.
The following is a summary of each of the three examples for which you may vote:
EXAMPLE 1
Strategic Leadership Council
- Composition: Members from each stakeholder constituency
- Responsibility: Develop strategy and policy recommendations
- Outcome: Recommendations subject to approval by the Forum
Project Leadership Management Council
- Composition: Members from each stakeholder constituency
- Responsibility: Oversee all active projects, provide technical management, and coordinate project team membership
- Outcome: Refer strategic issues to the Strategic Leadership Council and other matters to the Forum to approve or disapprove
Project Teams
- Composition: Members from relevant organizations of the Forum, staff member(s), member selection coordinated by Project
- Leadership Management Council with input from the Strategic Leadership Council
- Responsibility: Complete a project within the project scope, provide regular feedback to project management and the Forum
- Outcome: Quality results with broad stakeholder input and buy-in
Affinity Groups
- Composition: Groups formed voluntarily by members, with staff support provided for working as such a group at Forum meetings,
- listservs, and teleconferences
- Responsibility: (none defined)
- Outcome: A broader range of items of interest are taken up by the Forum
